Location

Tieling, as one of the municipalities directly under Liaoning Province, lies in the north of Liaoning Province and in the middle section of Songliao Plain. it stretches from 123° 27‘ to 125o06ˊeast longitude and 45o59ˊ to 43o29ˊnorth latitude. The city neighbors  Shenyang and  Fushun to the south , Siping of Jilin Province to the north , Qingyuan Manchu Autonomous County of Fushun city and Liaoyuan City of Jilin Province to the east, and Faku County, Kangping County of Sheyang City, Kerxin Left-wing Rear-banner and Tongliao City of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to the west. The longest distance from east to west 134 Km and width from south to north is 162 Km. Tieling covers a total land area of 13,000 square kilometers, among which, city proper is 638 sq km.
